Do you really need a newsletter? Why? Ok then, what are you going to include in it? Do you have a solid plan and focus? What kind of newsletter is it going to be? Will you tell your customers about company news? New products? Special offers? Content marketing?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bottom line &#8211; make sure you don&#8217;t dilute the impact of your newsletter with a <strong>fluffy focus<\/strong> and always have a <strong>documented plan<\/strong> for why you are writing a newsletter, and what you hope to get out of it. A newsletter is <strong>part of your marketing plan<\/strong>, and should have a clearly-defined place in it!<\/p>\n<h2>Onto the tips for your newsletter!<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Before you send<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Make sure you really need a newsletter &#8211;\u00a0<em>whether it&#8217;s great or not!<\/em><br \/>\n2. Check out the competition &#8211;\u00a0<em>in many areas, the competition is low, so ensure yours is the best around!<\/em><br \/>\n3. Refine the sign-up process &#8211;\u00a0<em>almost everyone has a newsletter these days, so &#8220;sign up for the newsletter&#8221; doesn&#8217;t cut it anymore!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>During the creation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4. Do your research &#8211;\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/danny-wong\/13-email-marketing-tips-t_b_9050798.html\">this article<\/a> is particularly good<\/em><br \/>\n5. If you use a newsletter tool, as mentioned in the last article, really get the most out of it &#8211;<em>try playing around with segmentation, resending to clients who don&#8217;t open, onboarding sequences, and testing times, senders and subject lines<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>After it&#8217;s sent<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n8. Always occasionally ask your list members for feedback &#8211;\u00a0<em>they know what they are interested in, but don&#8217;t hassle them!<\/em><br \/>\n9.
